Plain Weave
Each warp wire passes over and under the successive weft wire and vice versa resulting in precise mesh opening and maximum cloth stability.

Twill Weave
The warp wire passes over and under two weft wires and vice versa. This type of weave allows the use of larger wire diameters to meet process requirements.
The standard materials used are the stainless steels AISI 316 and 316L. Depending on the type of mesh, standard production widths range from 1.3 m to 3 m. Special orders can be produced in widths of up to 8.1 m. We manufacture mesh to particular specifications or produce standard meshes in special materials like Monel, Hastelloy, Inconnel or Titanium.

Plain Dutch Weave
This weave pattern is similar to plain woven cloths. However, the warp wires are larger and spaced farther apart than the weft wires.
The surfaces of Plain Dutch Weaves are closed and filtration takes place at the crossing point of warp and weft. These weaves have a greater mechanical stability than plain open square meshes. Plain Dutch Weaves are used in pre-coat filtration elements, vacuum filtration, drum filters, nutsch-type filters and in cartridge filters. The materials used are typically stainless steel - AISI 304 and 316 (DIN 1.4301 and 1.4401) - but other materials can be readily supplied on request.

Optimesh
A version of Dutch weaves using fine wires for good density and controlled micronic filtration and retention.

Dutch Twill Weave
A Dutch Weave, but woven in a twill pattern which enables twice as many weft wires to be woven in the same area as a Plain Dutch Weave to achieve a finer filter opening. Typically produced for very fine filtration applications - 10 micron and finer.

PZ - Microdur (Reverse Plain Dutch Weave)
The warp wires are smaller and spaced closer together than the weft wires. (KPZ – Microdur weaves are basically modified PZ Microdur cloth, using a twilled weaving pattern to achieve even greater stability). This weave allows the use of high tensile wires, which offer the most durable and stable fine filter cloth, and makes it possible to produce wire cloth fabric with apertures ranging from nominal 14 µm up to 200 µm.
An excellent media in all applications where backwashing, cleaning or filter cake removal processes require great mechanical stability. PZ Microdur cloth is used in vertical leaf filters (Niagarafilter), horizontal pressure leaf filters, as well as in centrifuges and backwashed cartridge filter systems. KPZ – Microdur weaves are also used extensively in polymer filters.

Tela Weave Cloth
A filter mesh characterized by a 5- heddle-atlas pattern. This special weaving style makes it possible to produce open meshes with high flow rates combined with great mechanical stability. At the same time, it creates a smooth surface for easy removal of filter cake and trouble-free cleaning of the filter media.
TELA cloths have proven especially applicable in drum filter equipment and in disc filters where the build up of the filter cake, the removal and the cleaning are performed in continuous cycles. These meshes are used in waste water treatment, process water filtration and in the mining industry.

Weave Variables
Custom weaves engineered to meet custom applications are a specialty of GKD. To meet your requirements, we can:
Alter the diameter of the wires in the warp direction and/or in the weft direction; alter the mesh count or spacing in the warp or weft; or, alter the weave pattern itself. We can, additionally, use material combinations to achieve certain characteristics.
