GKD, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute*, has developed a simulation software, “GeoDict”, to model characteristics and functionality of woven mesh.

The filtration behaviors of woven metal meshes are simulated and the findings are used to develop new mesh construction or to further optimize existing mesh for customer-specific applications. Hypothetical predictions from the software, such as porosity, pressure drop, or bubble point are extremely close to reality. Comparison of results from simulations and classic experiments show a close correlation with minimal deviation of less than 4%.
