The cloth is woven in a plain pattern but with many thin warp wires and relatively fewer, thicker weft wires. PZ-Microdur cloth is therefore often referred to as ‘Reverse Plain Dutch Weave’. This pattern makes it possible to produce wire cloths with apertures ranging from nominal 14 µm to 200 µm. PZ-Microdur cloths have proven to be excellent media in applications where great mechanical stability is required, such as backwashing, cleaning, or filter cake removal. Equipment in which PZ-Microdur cloths are used include vertical leaf filters (Niagarafilter) and Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters, as well as centrifuges and backwashable cartridge filter systems.
