Woven meshes with high structural strengths were developed for the special requirements inherent to precoat filtration devices. Microdur, PZ, KPZ, and YMAX® are used in precoat applications ensuring a long mesh life. The meshes are durable even when subjected to high mechanical forces created during removal of the process filter cake.
A few of the precoat applications using GKD mesh are vertical leaf filters, cartridge filters, rotating disc filters, candles, centrifuges, and drum filters. All woven media is ultrasonically cleaned.
GKD designs and fabricates filter leaves, and will also rescreen your existing filter leave, typically saving you half the cost of a new replacement.
Precise weaving and high quality are important factors in the screening of ultra-fine particles. SOLIDWEAVE™ by GKD guarantees consistently high levels of mesh precision and strength in meshes ranging from 25 µm to 10 mm, and in widths up to 3 meters. Whether in designing the right mesh for customer-specific applications or in our rescreening service, stainless steel sieve screens from GKD are used wherever demanding applications call for efficiency and reliability.
Woven square wire mesh is the most common media for sieving applications due to the exact aperture produced by GKD’s weaving technology. While meshes are available from stock in common grades of stainless steel, GKD also offers a variety of exotic alloys and wire diameters to meet the specific needs of our customers.
GKD provides solid and liquid filtration media for filtration equipment such as cartridge filters, drum filters, or centrifuges. The filtration of oil, whether inside or outside an oil well requires the use of complex piping systems. One of the critical criteria for these systems is filter media designed by GKD.
Meeting specific well conditions, GKD can supply screens ranging from 20 µm to 500 µm. Our screens are designed to withstand extreme mechanical and environmental conditions while assisting in the control of formation sands in down-hole pumping equipment.
The distillation process is a liquid separation method used to split thermally sensitive materials from each other. Typical applications include high molecular organic compounds in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, oil, and gas. Properly engineered structured mesh packs are important for efficient operation of a distillation column. GKD manufactured mesh is optimized for low differential pressures, good capillary action, and high separation efficiency.
In the production of structured mesh packs for columns, tela/five heddle weave, six heddle weave, square mesh, and plain weave mesh designs are typically used. Depending on the application, these are supplied in various materials: 1.4301 (AISI 304)/1.4306 (AISI 304L/1.4401 (AISI 316)/1.4404 (AISI 316L); 1.4571 (AISI 316 Ti)/ 1.4535/1.4539 (904L)/1.4462 (Duplex 2205)/Hastelloy C 22/Hastelloy C 4, Monel 2.4360, Bronze, Nickel 200. Other materials can be supplied, depending on the availability of the raw material and their ability to be processed on our looms.
Mesh strips if required can be supplied as coils in lengths of up to 1000 lineal meters. The single partial strips are approximately 200 lineal meters to 300 lineal meters, which are then connected to each other. Depending on the new application requirements, GKD can also supply mesh in various perforated patterns. Strips can be cleaned, degreased, or thermally treated.
GKD stainless steel wire mesh, mesh laminates, and YMAX® are used as filter media in various hot gas filtration applications. Our patented* interlocking welded seam has proven to significantly outlast ordinary lap joints. Filter media is matched to the requirements of the application based on the needed particle retention characteristic and/or the general requirements of the exhaust gas filtration.
In addition to using our filter cloths and cages for new hot gas applications, take advantage of our re-screening service for your existing filtration equipment. GKD has an experienced staff ready to appraise repairs, remove old media, and re-screen the supporting frames. GKD’s fixtures are universal, allowing re-screening of almost any frame regardless of geometry or dimension.

GKD filter media and filter elements are used worldwide for the manufacture of extruded plastic products, films, and man-made fibers—all of which require filtration. High performance filter media in the form of cartridges, discs, or cut to size pieces—pleated or smooth—as well as special continuous feed filter belts for extruders is the obvious choice for the most challenging of tasks. Precision engineering, cleanliness, mechanical strength, cutting accuracy, and optimal through-put are characteristic of GKD mesh for polymer filtration. Special meshes such as optimized micronic cloth and YMAX® represent process reliability and advanced technology.
High performance filters are essential in meeting the increasing requirement for inkjet filtration. GKD understands this demand and is leading the industry with precision engineering in slitting, punching, and cleaning for both OEM and re-usable inkjet markets.
SolidWEAVE meshes provide mechanical strength with accuracy, providing optimal throughput characteristics for high performance filters. These filters can be implemented in the form of cartridges and discs, or they can be custom tailored to your own specifications.
GKD wire mesh has been a key component in battery manufacturing. Woven wire mesh can be manufactured as discs or cut to a required size. Slit rolls of material are supplied at extremely tight width tolerances eliminating loose wires on the edges, and our materials can be annealed and ultrasonically cleaned. In addition, our stainless steel and nickel alloys offer oxidation and corrosion resistance and can be supplied in widths up to 2 meters wide.
GKD engineering provides exceptional solutions for your specific needs.
Whether in the aerospace, automotive, building, or electronics industry, shielding against electromagnetic radiation is an issue of increasing significance. Known as electromagnetic interference (EMI) or electromagnetic radiation (Radio Frequency Interference or “RFI”), the interference refers to unwanted frequency signals. GKD’s wire mesh reduces the volume of unwanted frequency levels, providing reliable high frequency shielding performance. GKD mesh is made from copper and other conductive materials which are transparent and supply very efficient shielding (>40dB).
GKD’s mesh maximizes light transmission and is less likely to crease due to the material and structure. GKD also offers and stocks a line of standard mesh up to 2 meters wide, making it available when you need it.
GKD wire mesh provides excellent sound absorption, reducing the decibel levels in aircraft engine nacelles and other acoustic noise reduction applications.
Mesh is specified by rayl numbers (resistance to flow) defined as a ratio of pressure drop to flow.
Wire mesh is used for many noise dampening functions, such as mufflers and silencers. Conversely, the wire mesh is also used for microphones and loud speakers, providing a support structure to protect sensitive membranes yet allowing a uniform permeability of sound waves.
The 300 series stainless steel mesh alloys offer oxidation and corrosion resistance, and are available in widths up to 2 meters. In addition to stainless steel, other alloy or polymer materials and hybrid combinations are available as well, providing solutions for your specific needs.
In addition, all GKD wire meshes are put through high quality cleaning processes and are subjected to individual quality assurance specifications, ensuring that all of our mesh is of the highest quality before offering it to you in roll form, cut to size pieces, or special laser cut shapes.
GKD has participated in many internationally renowned projects and has gathered a wealth of experience in the field of wind tunnels. Putting this knowledge and experience to use, GKD produces anti-turbulence screens at the highest quality level in widths of up to 8.1 meters. Larger screens are also available, using a special wire to wire bonding technique.
An important part of GKD’s service is the installation of these screens worldwide. Our team of experienced engineers and fitters make sure that the fragile screens are perfectly installed and ensure the operational quality level.
For both new installations and replacement screens, GKD will be at your side for the entire project—from the planning stage to project completion—ensuring that our product achieves optimal interfacing with other works and components.

General aviation aircraft, large commercial jets, and wind mills are vulnerable to lightning strikes. Composite materials are being widely used for construction of structures—materials that, on their own, do not divert electricity generated by lightning strikes. GKD offers fine, specially woven aluminum, copper, and bronze which, when combined with composite materials/structures, grounds and protects against destructive lightning strikes.
GKD mesh is lightweight, drapes well, and is an economic solution for lightning strike protection.
