Today’s engineers are confronted with an ever-widening array of design objectives in hot gas filtration applications. Optimization of the process has evolved to include considerations such as environmental impact, the cost of waste disposal, safety of personnel, total maintenance demands and user ergonomics.

Wire mesh, stainless steel random fibers, ceramics, sintered powder metal and ceramic fiber media are the most common medias used in hot gas filtration. Hot gas filtration using woven wire mesh is an established and proven technology. GKD believes that woven wire mesh medias are particularly suited for hot gas applications employing a pre-coat process. As well, various applications exist where the mesh itself is the active filtration layer. Precoat filtration is used in applications where the finest mesh available is too coarse to provide meaningful particulate removal.
