FLEXOPLAN™ caul screens for OSB boards with grip

High-tensile and flexible, FLEXOPLAN™ 163 Special is produced by GKD and fabricated to customer specifications that meet the high demands on its use in stationary single-stage and multi-stage presses.

Caul screens made of this doubletwisted mesh type have a plain weave structure and are used all over the world in the production of OSB (Oriented Strand Board) boards.

The specific surface coarseness of the OSB boards, due to the mesh marking, is the reason for the particular success of FLEXOPLAN™ caul screens in North America's construction industry.

The precisely fitted riveted, soldered connection guides, or special sheet connection guides, are custom manufactured according to the individual requirements of each plant. FLEXOPLAN™ caul screens have proved themselves in all conventional production plants.

FLEXOPLAN™ - for PB and MDF boards for fine surfaces

For the production of PB (Particle Board) or MDF (Medium Density Fiber Board) boards, FLEXOPLAN™ Type 452 KP has proved its value in each application.

Efficiency and operational reliability qualify this process mesh with twilled weave structure for use in presses made by, for example, Becker & van Hüllen, Bison, Dieffenbacher, Metso, Motalla, Rautte, Schenck, Siempelkamp, Sunds and Washington Iron.
FLEXOPLAN™ Type 452 KP is characterized by a smooth surface structure.

In addition, this mesh type that is made of fine warp wires and flexible weft cables will retain its flexibility even in hot pressing.

Pressing and embossing with FLEXOPLAN™ process belts

Embossing press belts of the type FLEXOPLAN™ 163 Special are made completely of stainless steel.
They can be supplied in sizes up to four meters wide and 160 meters long.
On request, the belt will also be equipped by GKD with a silicon coating as a vapour barrier.

Break proof up to 200 N/mm and suitable for operational temperatures up to 250°C, these belts are pressure-resistant and precise in running even in greater lengths.
This type of belts are also the best choice for continuous presses or serial embossing presses.

As an endless belt, up to 70 meter long process belt or up to four meter wide and 20 meter long top screen, FLEXOPLAN™ also guarantees reliable results in stationary steam presses.
The mesh structure of double-twisted metal cables spreads the steam quickly and consistently.
Boards with a final thickness of up to 15 cm, as is required for example in the production of OSB beams for wall and ceiling construction, are pressed reliably and efficiently.

Ventilation with CONDUCTO®– without electrostatic charging

The safety feature of the CONDUCTO® ventilation belt is visible to the eye:

bronze wires in the running direction permanently prevent electrostatic charging and adhesion of particles to the belt in the prepress

Reliable discharging in compliance with the Atex Norm Class 3 minimizes fire hazard as well as damage to belt and product through adhering lumps of particles

In contrast to conventional belt structures with graphite-filled monofilaments, the bronze wires retain their full conductive capacity even in 24/7 use.
The smooth polyester mesh is also convincing in terms of its high air permeability and robust flexibility.

Wood pellets-dryer belt– temperature-resistant and robust

WEAVEinMotion™ belts fulfil the thermal and mechanical requirements in belt dryers to an outstanding degree.

Temperature-resistant up to 150°C dry (PES) or 180°C (PPS) and resistant to abrasion, they ensure the efficient drying of wood pellets, wood chips and shavings. Cross-stable, stretch proof and precise in running, the belts guarantee interruption-free production.

Their high air permeability with small mesh openings also proves itself in this process.

GKD dryer belts are also available in CONDUCTO® mesh and facilitate complete plant construction in compliance with the ATEX norm.

These belts are supplied in widths up to 6.5 meters and 150 meters long.

Press draining meshes and compensation meshes

Proven classics among press drainage meshes made by GKD for the production of FB (Fiber Board) hard fiber boards in wet process are plain woven stainless steel wire meshes and Tela Microdur™ in twilled weave, manufactured by GKD in its works in South Africa.

The robust selvage edges are for reinforcement of the mesh plates used in this process.
In addition, its high efficiency is also due to its very good drainage performance.
This type of mesh will also remove the product from the belt, because of its smooth surface structure.

GKD compensation meshes are made to individual customer specifications and tailored to each specific application.
